George Durland Sells Family Ranch To His Son Transfer of ownership of the Durland ranch at Como is of est in that this is one of the oldtime properties in that section. George Durland is selling the place to his son, Larry, who lives at Salt Lake City, Utah, and the younger man says that he expects to retire in the Bitter Root valley. Mr.

and Mrs. Larry Durland and their children, Lawrence, Leslie, Martha and Melanie, recently spent two weeks visiting with the father and Mrs. Durland and the details of the sale were worked out then. There are 187 acres in the ranch, which was originally 200. The railroad right-of-way, the highway the land on which the Como school house is located, and the big ditch right-of-way have taken away the difference.

In addition to that Mr. Durland has given an acre of land on U. S. Highway 93 at the lower corner of his place roadside park. It is to be by the combined efforts of the forest service, the highway department and the Hamilton Lions Club to provide benches, tables and outdoor fireplaces for a picnic area.

It is a piece of land without much value for ranching and is an ideal spot for a park, Mr. Durland said. It will make a nice place for motorists to pull of fthe highway. Mr. and Mrs.

Durland and her mother, Mrs. C. B. Anderson, who spend the summer months at the ranch and go to Florida during the winter, will continue to come back to the Bitter Root annually, they reported. They like the climate the weather here.

Next month they will go to Tarpon Springs, Fla. EACH MONDAY until 3 p. m.
