If so, the Selway-Pintler Wilderness Backcountry Horsemen group invites in interested parties to attend the Thursday, Dec. 14 general meeting, which will be in the basement room of the Bitterroot Public Library in Hamilton at 306 State St. The board meeting will start at 5:30 p.m., refreshments and "trail talk" at 6:30 p.m., followed by the general meeting at 7 p.m. For information contact Julie at 218-8337 or Joy at 961-4819. Bitterroot Cross Country Ski Club The group will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, Dec.

14, at the First Presbyterian Church, at 1220 W. Main St. in Hamilton. The event starts with a potluck at 6 p.m. The program will feature Sonny LaSalle presenting a slide show of "A visit to the homeland, Sicily." Those attending are encouraged to bring non perishable food items to be donated to Haven House.

Travelers' Rest meeting The Travelers' Rest Preservation and Heritage Association Board of Directors is conducting a meeting on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 3:30 p.m.at Travelers' Rest State Park, 6550 Mormon Creek Road in Lolo. The public is welcome to attend. Great gifts for Special Olympics The Bitterroot Valley Stars Adult Special Olympics Team will be selling Diners Club books for 2007. These books allow people to buy one meal at restaurants in Ravalli and Missoula Counties and get a second meal of the same or less value free or at a reduced price.

The books are $29.95 each or $26.95 each if you buy two or more. The books will be available, starting Thursday, Dec. 14, at five Bitterroot Valley locations. These locations are: The Super One Stores' courtesy counters in Hamilton and Stevensville, The Coffee Cup in Hamilton, Valley Drug in Stevensville, and Bitterroot Stoves and Billiards at 1345 U.S. 93 N.

between Hamilton and Victor. The Bitterroot Valley Stars Special Olympics Team will get 40 percent of the selling price of each book. The Golden Age Club The group's Christmas dinner will be held on Friday, Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. Set-up time is Thursday, Dec.

14 at 2 p.m. There will be a $3 charge at the door. Dick Reinhold's band will play. The Valley Rhythm Boys play on Friday, Dec. 22.

The Bitterroot Five will provide music on Friday, Dec. 29. The business meeting is on Wednesday, Jan. 3 following the 12:30 p.m. potluck dinner.

Kids First basketball Kids First is sponsoring a youth basketball program for valley. first through eighth grades. All games will be on Saturdays: First and second grades at the Westview Center and third through eighth grades at Hamilton Middle School. The program will be coed for first and second grades and gender-based for the older kids. Teams will primarily be assigned by the school attended.

Practices will begin on Monday, Jan. 8. The cost is $30 for the first child, and $20 for each other child per family. Team shirts are included. Registration will run through Friday, Dec.

15. Late signups are not guaranteed. Forms are available at Kids First at the Westview Center and through Family Resource Centers at local schools. Indicate if you are interested in helping coach, referee, or sponsor teams on the sign-up sheets. Business donations of $100 are requested to sponsor teams, with the logos to be displayed on the shirts.

Newcomers club Join the Bitterroot Valley Newcomers Club for their Christmas luncheon on Thursday, Dec.

14 at 11:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Hamilton. Soups, salad, bread and cookies will be served. The Lilies of the Valley will perform at 1 p.m. Non- perishable food items will be collected for donation to Haven House cash donations for Santa Smut.

Tree of Lights for hospice Support Hospice and let a light shine as participants honor the memory of loved ones through music, prayer and poetry. The event will occur on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Marcus Daly Hospice Center in conference rooms and c.

The annual ceremony is a fundraiser for the Marcus Daly Hospice program. An ornament may be purchased and sent to yourself or loved ones. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever Tickets for the family classic, "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" are now available at the Hamilton Playhouse. A comedy written by Barbara Robinson (based on the book of the same name) and directed by April Johnson, this warm and wonderful holiday show stars the Horrible Herdmans, the meanest kids around who take over the annual Christmas pageant. OBITUARIES Dolores Hieronymus ing time with them. Her expression of love was often a delicious home-cooked meal for them to share. She attended early school in California, but graduated from Hamilton High School in 1940.

She married Stephen A. Wanderer, her high-school sweetheart, May 18, 1941. Stephen died in Burma during World War II, leaving Dolores behind with their son, Stephen L. Wanderer. In 1945, Dolores married her long -time friend George Hieronymus.

Together, they bought a small ranch and raised Black Angus cattle. Dolores also worked as a legal secretary, a secretary for the Hamilton School District, a bookkeeper and a real estate broker. She enjoyed bridge, golf, most sporting events and traveling, especially cruises. Dolores was an active member of Marcus Daly Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion and Elks Auxiliary. She was lifetime member of the Methodist- Baptist Federated Church in Hamilton.

Dolores's memory will live in the family legacy, Hieronvmus Park in Hamilton. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Stephen Wanderer, in 1945; and husband George Hieronymus in 1995, shortly before their 50th wedding anniversary; granddaughter Michelle Wanderer and son-in-law Dennis Filcher. HAMILTON Dolores Hieronymus was born Stevensville May 7, 1922, to Walter and Clara Foss Hunter. She died Dec. 12, 2006, at Hamilton Hospice Center with her son and daughter at her side.

Dolores was known for her gregarious personality and enthusiasm for life. She adored her family and enjoyed spend- Dolores is survived by her son Stephen Wanderer and wife Roxana of Kelso, daughin ter Georgia L. Filcher of Hamilton; grandson Jim Wanderer and Chris Kanazawa and their children Malia and Jake all of Palo Alto, grandson Stephen G. Wanderer and wife Katie and their child Sophie all of Sacramento, and Julie Wanderer of Longview, mother Foss of Jim and Stephen; grandson Dennis J. Filcher and Jennifer Dotson of Spokane, granddaughter Brookie Syme and Jonathan and their children Brandon, McKenzie and Bridger all of Hamilton; sisters Connie Brammer (Monte) of New Castle, Lois Asch (David) Lolo, Mary Jo Jacobsen (Dale) of Missoula; sisters-in-law Virginia Wanderer Madeen of Hamilton and Juanita Hieronymus Carl (Joe) of Missoula; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at the Dowling Funeral Home in the chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. A religious funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at the Dowling Funeral Home. The Rev.

Steve Millar will be officiating. A reception will follow at the Dowling Funeral Home in the community room. A private family interment will take place at Riverview: Cemetery in Hamilton. In memory of Dolores, memorials may be made to the Hieronvmus Park Fund in care of the Ravalli County Bank, 224 W. Pickney St.

Senior Wheels USA program's main purpose is to develop publie awareness that there are assistance options to enable senior citizens and the permanently disabled to remain independent in their own homes. Without this awareness and assistance, families mav choose nursing homes or unnecessarily pay the retail prices for the equipment.
