HEY, BRtilBl SAYS HERE VifefeE PART OF THE "volatile ELECTORATE" 'It's incredible," said Twist, describing the accumulation of silt, which threaten birds as well as big game. In addition to blocking the flow of water into nesting ponds, he said the silt has caused flooding of dry land heavily used by deer for grazing. Earlier this year, some 400 cubic yards of silt was hauled out to try to reduce the levels. But the work 'didn't even put a dent in it," said Twist, estimating the depth of silt in the creek at from five to six feet.

If the proposed project is approved, the creek channel would be rerouted into a series of three settling basins. The basins would be built a few yards south of the existing channeL From there, water from Three Mile Creek would flow into Rodgen Creek, which empties into Three Mile Pond and Blue Heron Pond. The Army Corps is expected to make a decision on the project sometime next month or in early November, following the Oct. 19 son David Hagler of California, and eleven grandchildren.
